Maddie Cakes

i just finished this piece that was commissioned by my brother of his youngest daughter Maddie, who I call Maddie Cakes. This painting will be hung with Keeley in his living room. Devon and his wife are so happy with it. I took this picture last summer and was so taken with it that I had planned to paint it no matter what. It really did turn out strong in oils.  It is very important  to me that I make sure the photo I work from for a portrait is just right. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, not every picture is meant to be a painting. Sometimes it is better to just frame that photo you love with some lovely matting and enjoy it that way. I hope that every investor gets a painting of mine that reflects well on me and what I do but also brings that person joy every time they see it.
