When I was little I was nuts for fresh raspberries. My grandma had a large patch of them at the back of her yard and my brother and I would go out there every day with a little bowl and lose ourselves in the bushes. My mom has pictures of my little curly haired head sticking out of a forest of green leaves, cheeks red with raspberry juice.

Last summer I took my daughter out to my mother-in-law’s farm to take some summer pictures and play. Willow had climbed up into this bush and had no idea she was surrounded by her favourite berries. This painting is capturing the moment Willow saw the berries under the leaves right beside her. She was so happy. I love sharing this love of raspberries with my girl.
